Elegoo M1 Ultra: Another Chinese Printer Brand Enters 3D Scanning

1 min read

Elegoo has teased the M1 Ultra scanner, claiming 0.02 mm accuracy, wireless operation and touchscreen controls. Pricing and the underlying measurement technology are still undisclosed.

A new product category

On October 22, Elegoo revealed the M1 Ultra 3D scanner. The brand is best known for resin and FDM printers, and the scanner signals a move toward a broader scan-to-print workflow, including digitizing existing objects and creating replacement parts.

Claimed capabilities

Early information mentions 0.02 mm accuracy, touchscreen operation, wireless scanning and several scan modes. The accuracy figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified result. The scanning principle, working distance, supported object sizes and battery life have not yet been specified.

Why it matters

Following Bambu Lab’s earlier S1 announcement, Elegoo’s move suggests Chinese printer manufacturers increasingly want to serve the entire scan-to-print chain. Meaningful comparisons will require complete specifications and independent tests on challenging surfaces. Neither a firm retail price nor a precise launch date has been announced.

Commodore 64 Ultimate Returns: A Retro Legend, Not a 3D-Printed One

Commodore.net has officially relaunched its legendary home computer as the Commodore 64 Ultimate, rebuilding the classic machine on modern FPGA hardware. We cover it here as a curiosity: it has no direct 3D printing angle, since the case is produced with classic injection molding using the original 1986 tooling, not 3D printing.
