Chinese DLP-Printed Metamaterial with Wide Pressure-Sensing Range

1 min read

A dual-gradient sensor from HUST researchers targets both subtle touch and much larger loads in one structure.

How the structure works

The DLP-printed lattice varies geometry and mechanical response together to widen the useful sensing range.

Reported results

The report describes a range from 1.3 Pa to 3.45 MPa and testing over 10,000 cycles. These are research results, not specifications for a commercial industrial sensor.

Applications

Robotic tactile sensing and soft robotics are potential applications.
